Run; don’t walk, to get excellent rates.

What’s covered?
From their pamphlet on "How Your Accounts are Federally Insured": The NCUSIF provides all members of federally insured credit unions with $250,000 in coverage for their individual accounts. These accounts include regular shares, share drafts (similar to checking), money market accounts and share certificates… Members with traditional and Roth Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) retirement accounts at federally insured credit unions have additional coverage at each federally insured credit union where they qualify and become members… [As of April 1, 2006] the NCUSIF now insures member traditional and Roth IRAs for $250,000 in aggregate at each credit union. Additionally, NCUA insures member accounts separately in the aggregate to $250,000 at each credit union. quis, malesuada in sapien.

What is the NCUSIF?
Established in 1970, the NCUSIF insures your credit union deposits in much the same way that FDIC insurance protects your bank deposits. They collect insurance premiums and a deposit directly from member credit unions based on the total amount of their insured assets. The NCUSIF is also backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government.

Run; don’t walk, to put your money where your values and principles are.

Our vision is to be considered as a Community Development Credit Union approaching the ideals and ideas of a Jubilee Economics (Leviticus 25; Deuteronomy 15; and Acts 2) and Mondragon (Spain) system. So, unlike some banks were your deposits are funneled up and out of the local community and into a sort of global casino, at MBJ Federal Credit Union you can consider every dollar you put in as a developmental deposit. That is to say, your deposits will be loaned and used locally to people in need or small businesses.
The money stays in the Greater Brockton area and is used for community development.
The MBJ Federal Credit Union monies are used in the real local economy.

A Loving and Supportive Community
